City Waste Guidelines

Correctly Divide Household Waste

Waste collected by the Takasaki must be divided into the following categories:

Burnables: Kitchen waste, old cloth (clothes, bedding), diapers, papers that are unsuitable for recycling, soft plastics like shampoo/detergent bottles, plastic wrappings, polystyrene trays, garden waste (leaves/twigs), etc.

Non-burnables: Glass/pottery, incandescent light bulbs, frypans and other metal items; irons, toasters, hair driers, and other small household electrical appliances, hard plastics including buckets, toys, CDs and tanks, etc.

Recyclables: Recyclable papers including newspapers, magazines, cardboard, miscellaneous papers (bundled and tied together), drink containers (plastic, glass and aluminum/steel), batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs (unbroken).

Obey these 5 rules for correct waste disposal!

Put out your waste:

  • On the correct day for your neighborhood
  • At the correct time (by 8:30am on the day)
  • Divided into categories according to the day
  • In the designated way
  • At the correct collection site for your address
