Takasaki's new symbol, the City Hall was built in 1999. The City Hall fulfulls its primary role as an administrative center serving the citizens while providing a place of relaxation open for residents to enjoy at any time. The spacious first floor is decorated with a huge painting by Frank Stella and a ceramic mural mosaic by Ikuo Hirayama. The 21st floor serves as an observation deck. Citizens can enjoy spacious views of the surrounding area while dining. |

The Inui Tower and Moat serve as constant reminders of the ancient city which developed around the castle. In the Keichou period, Ii Naomasa, of Minowa Castle, built the Takasaki Castle on the ruins of Wada Castle. To this day, the historic Taksasaki Castle ruins are easily recognizable. |

| A flea market is held at "Motenashi Hiroba" on the 4th Sunday of every month. Unique booths sell fish, flowers, bread, crafts, clothing. drinks, food, etc. There is even an art shop which sells stone dolls. |
