Walking around Kannon-yama

Starting from the City Managed Pay Parking Lot, walk along the entrance to the shrine, offer prayers to Kannon-Sama, go down the mountain path to Hibiki-Bashi, and visit Kannon Caves and the Yamatoku Memorial Hall. The whole course takes about one hour.

Transportaion

Bus (Gururin, South-Circulation/Counterclockwise)
  West Entrance to Takasaki Station -> Entrance to Doukutsu-Kannon, Kappapia -> Top of Kannon-yama(Around 15 min.)

Municipal Parking Lot

Commands a view of the city. Closes at 5pm. ¥500 each time.
Byakui Dai-Kannon

There are some shops along the entrance to the shrine. The Kannon statue has a height of 41.8m, and is made of 5985 tons of concrete.
You can enter the statue and go up the steps. There are 9 floors in the body and 20 Buddhist images are visable. Byakui Dai Kannon is the white robed goddess of mercy.

Hibiki-Bashi

A suspension bridge 120 meters long, 2 meters wide and 28.5 meters high.
Dokutsu-Kannon

 

Construction on this site started in 1927, and finished in 1964. Visiting is like entering a fantastic world. The mine shaft in the cave extends for more than 400 m. Thirty three stone Buddhist statues are displayed to symbolize the land of Perfect Bliss in Buddhism. Also, the beautifully arranged Japanese garden can be appreciated at Tokumeien.
