Members’ Bus Tour to Asian Rural Institute in Nasu-Shiobara, Tochigi

 

The Asian Rural Institute (ARI) is a training center in Nasu-Shiobara city for around 30 rural leaders from Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Their training focuses on sustainable agriculture through integrated organic farming techniques. ARI holds a Harvest Thanksgiving Celebration every year produced by its students, and it is this event that bus tour participants will attend. English is the official language used at ARI.

The Harvest Thanksgiving Celebration features:

  • Dishes from various nations prepared with organic produce from ARI (vegetarian and halal options available)
  • Traditional handicrafts
  • Song and dance from students’ countries
  • Trying on traditional clothing and photo booth
  • Fundraising bazaar
  • Produce grown at ARI on sale

Tour Date: Sunday 14th October 2018

Time: Depart Takasaki Station at 7am, return by 7pm

Cost: 3,000 yen. If you are not yet a member of the Takasaki International Relations Society, please join before registering for the tour (annual membership fee is 2,000 yen).
